Reporter • Police Inspector General • Hostage • BCA Bank director

Reporter              : I’m Bob reporting for the SGU News, how are you all doing and what are your names?

Police                   : I’m Inspector General Krisna Murti.

Hostage               : My name is Cecelia Bloomers.

Director               : I’m Susilo Halim, the bank director of BCA Aeon Mall.

Reporter – Police

Reporter              : Good evening, sir. First of all, i would like to ask you, sir. Can you tell me how it all started and how the chronology was?

Police                   : Absolutely. This afternoon, around 1:00 PM when the bank is crowded by the customers, entered the 8 peoples who brought a big ransel. In some case they look like another customers in that bank. 4 peoples are queueing at the teller, 2 peoples are queueing at the customer service and 2 others are queueing at the ATM. After 4 peoples reaching the teller the robbery and hostage-taking began. All the robbers issued firearms that they have set in their bags. The weapons that they use include 5 units of AK-47 and 3 units of F2000. All these weapons are homemade firearms. Around 1:30 PM the robbbers began to rob with 3 peoples aiming the weapons to the teller, 2 peoples aiming the weapons to the customers, 1 people aiming the weapon to the security and 2 more are locking the bank security system and blocking the whole access points in and out of bank. Around 1:35 PM the security from AEON mall contact us and we immediately go there. The robbery and hostage-taking takes around 6 hours and caused panic in the mall, causing the mall owner took decision to close the mall temporary. The robbers asked the mall and police to provide the money as much as 500 millions rupiah, vehicles and also the access road to escape. The robbers threatened to kill all the hostages if their demands are not met. Around 4:30 PM our team has entered the area in the mall and began to move cautiously because they don’t want no casualties. Around 5:00 PM the robbers release 3 hostages because the hostages are elderly. Around 6:30 PM our team almost reaching the crime scene. And around 7:15 our team has been able to go inside and capturing the robbers and at 7:30 the robbers are arrested and the hostages were all rescued without any casualties.

Reporter              : What is the motive of robbery and hostage-taking?

Police                   : For a while the motive from the robbers is likely to get the money from the safes in the bank but we still digging to get the real motive.

Reporter              : How many hostages are held hostage by the robbers?

Police                   : There are around 20 peoples are hostage, because the robbery and hostage-taking incident when the bank was busy.

Director               : For the material loss, according the statement from the police, the robbers take the money as much as 200 million Rupiah from the safes but was thwarted by police. But the mental losses is more perceived by our employees. All of our employees who become hostages this afternoon still in shock over what they have been through this afternoon.

Reporter              : After what happened today, how is the operational activities of BCA Bank AEON Mall Branch Office tomorrow?

Director               : we will be closed for a while, until the police finished investigating the robbery and hostage today

Reporter              : Evening Mrs. Cecelia Bloomers, can you tell us the incident that happened today?

Hostages              : So, I came to BCA Bank AEON Mall to save my money. After that i was mugged by gun and gathered around in the middle of the room.

Reporter              : Where is your posistion during the robbery?

Hostages              : I was three people behind the robbers who were queuing at the teller

Reporter              : Can you describe to us how the situation when the hostages bappen?

Hostages              ; The situation was crowded and then becomes frightened when the robber was aiming the gun to us.

Reporter              : Okay, thanks for your time mam and i hope you will recover soon. Good Evening

BRIEF

Has been an armed robbery at a Bank BCA AEON Mall BSD, Tangerang. The suspects carrying firearms such as AK-47 and F2000. They seized all the visitors in the bank and ask for a ransom of 500 million rupiah and vehicles to escape from the scene.

Based on information from the police, the robbery suspects, amounting to 8 people carrying a backpack and entered the bank wearing neat. No one suspected that they were thieves. 4 of them in line at the teller, two suspects lined up at the customer service, and the other 2 were in the ATM machine.

After 4 robbery suspects arrived at the teller counter, they immediately pointed their guns toward the employees and staff of the bank and also towards all visitors bank assisted by comrades those in other positions. 3 peoples aiming the weapons to the teller, 2 peoples aiming the weapons to the customers, 1 people aiming the weapon to the security and 2 more are locking the bank security system and blocking the whole access points in and out of bank.

When the suspect off guard, security immediately called the police for help.

The robbery and hostage-taking takes around 6 hours and caused panic in the mall, causing the mall owner took decision to close the mall temporary.

The robbers asked the mall and police to provide the money as much as 500 millions rupiah, vehicles and also the access road to escape. The robbers threatened to kill all the hostages if their demands are not met.
